In Top One Trader General Trading Rules (Applicable to All Accounts)
The following rules are universal across most Top One Trader accounts unless specified otherwise. Understanding these is key to your success.
News Trading Rule
News trading is permitted during the evaluation phases. However, on all Funded and Instant Funding accounts, you are prohibited from executing or closing any trade (including market orders, stop losses, or take profits) within a 5-minute window before and after a high-impact news event. A violation results in a profit deduction, unless the trade was opened more than 5 hours prior to the news.
Expert Advisors (EAs)
EAs are only permitted during the evaluation phase for 1-Step FLASH and 2-Step PRO challenges. The use of EAs on any funded account is prohibited. Traders must use EAs with unique settings matching their personal strategy; using commercially available, unmodified EAs is not allowed.
Copy Trading Policy
Copy trading is allowed between your own Top One Trader accounts or from your Top One Trader account to an external account you own at another broker. However, copy trading between accounts not owned by the same individual (e.g., friends or family) is strictly prohibited.
Weekend Trading/Holding
Holding trades over the weekend is allowed for 1-Step FLASH and 2-Step PRO accounts. For Instant Funding accounts, weekend holding is not permitted unless the specific add-on has been purchased.
30-Day Inactivity Rule
You must place at least one trade every 30 calendar days to keep your account active. This period is counted from the account purchase date. Failure to do so is considered an account breach due to inactivity.
Understanding Soft Breaches
A soft breach is a rule violation that typically results in a profit deduction rather than account termination. Common soft breaches include violating the news trading window, weekend holding on restricted accounts, or opening a trade without a stop-loss. While FLASH and PRO accounts have no limit on soft breaches, Instant Funding accounts have a limit of 10 before it becomes a hard breach.
Prohibited Trading Practices
Strategies that are considered unrealistic or abusive are strictly forbidden. This includes, but is not limited to: High-Frequency Trading (HFT), latency arbitrage, group trading, hedging across multiple accounts, using "pass your challenge" services, and masking EA usage.
EquityShield: Automatic Risk Management
EquityShield is an automatic risk management tool that helps protect your account from certain soft breaches, like exceeding loss limits per symbol or total open trade loss limits, by closing trades automatically. Read more

INSTANT FUNDING Rules
- Minimum Trading Days: There are no minimum trading days required.
- Lock Upon Payout Rule: On your first payout request, the maximum trailing drawdown locks at your initial balance, converting it to a static drawdown that no longer trails your account's growth. Read more
INSTANT PRIME Rules
- Minimum Trading Days: There are no minimum trading days required.
- Daily Pause Rule: If your account reaches a 2.5% drawdown in a single day, trading is automatically paused for the rest of that day. This is not a breach, and your account reopens at 5:00 PM EST.
- Equity Stability Score (ESS): To be eligible for a payout, your ESS must be 30% or lower. If it is higher, you must continue trading until the score meets this requirement. Read more

Consistency Rules :
Profit Consistency Rules by Account Type
Top One Trader employs different consistency rules depending on your chosen account type to encourage stable and realistic trading performance. Here is a breakdown of the requirements for each program.
2 Step Pro Challenge
This program uses a "best day" profit consistency rule that adjusts after you are funded:
- During Evaluation (Phases 1 & 2): The profit from your single best trading day cannot exceed 50% of your total profit for that phase.
- On Funded Accounts: The rule becomes more flexible. To qualify for a payout, your single best day's profit must not exceed 30% of the total profit being withdrawn.
Instant Funding Program
This program utilizes a 15% profit consistency rule. This means the profit from your single best trading day cannot be more than 15% of your total profits at the time of payout. Note: Accounts purchased before September 24, 2025, are subject to a more lenient 20% consistency score.
Instant Prime: Equity Stability Score (ESS)
The Instant Prime account features a unique metric called the Equity Stability Score (ESS). To be eligible for any payout, your ESS must be 30% or lower. If your score is above this threshold, you will need to continue trading until the requirement is met. The ESS is calculated with the following formula:(read more)
(Largest Winning Day + Absolute Largest Losing Day) ÷ Total Profit × 100%
