News Trading Rules
BrightFunded's rules for trading during news events differ based on your account phase:
- Evaluation Accounts: You have complete freedom with no restrictions on news trading.
- Funded Accounts: Trading is restricted during a specific window surrounding high-impact news releases. You may not open or close any trades 5 minutes before or 5 minutes after the news. Profits generated within this 10-minute window are considered a soft breach and will be deducted, but this will not result in the loss of your account.
Copy Trading Policy
Copy trading is permitted, provided you are exclusively copying trades between accounts that you personally own. This includes copying between your BrightFunded account, accounts at other prop firms, or your personal retail broker accounts. However, copy trading between accounts owned by different individuals is strictly prohibited.
Using Expert Advisors (EAs)
The use of Expert Advisors (EAs) and other forms of automated trading is allowed. All automated strategies must fully comply with the established daily and total loss limits for your account.
30-Day Inactivity Rule
To keep your account active, you must place at least one trade every 30 calendar days. Accounts that remain inactive beyond this period will be deactivated. If an account is not reactivated by contacting support within six months of deactivation, it will be permanently closed.
Prohibited Trading Strategies and Practices
To ensure fair and realistic trading conditions, BrightFunded strictly prohibits certain strategies. Violation of these rules may lead to account termination.
Account and Platform Manipulation
- Hedging positions.
- Exploiting service errors, platform delays, or latency arbitrage.
- Using external or delayed data feeds for an unfair advantage.
- Coordinated trading or manipulating the system with multiple users or accounts.
- Any violation of the trading platform or provider's terms of service.
Abusive and High-Speed Strategies
- The use of automated software, AI, or high-speed tools designed to exploit platform inefficiencies.
- Abusive strategy types, including but not limited to: grid trading, tick scalping, and High-Frequency Trading (HFT).
Risk-Abusive Practices
- Engaging in risk-abusive trading such as overleveraging, overexposure, placing one-sided bets, or "account rolling."
IP, VPN, and VPS Usage Rules
You are permitted to use different IP addresses, VPNs, and VPS services, for instance, when traveling. However, the rule against account sharing is strict: only the verified account owner is ever allowed to place trades on the account.
