Funding Traders Review: General Trading Rules & Policies
The following rules apply to most accounts to ensure a fair, consistent, and risk-managed trading environment for all users.
News Trading Rules
Rules for trading during major news events vary significantly by the account model:
- Next Gen Models:
- Evaluation: News trading is allowed, but if over 50% of your profits come from news events, your account will be reviewed.
- Funded: News trading is restricted. You may not open, close, or hold trades 5 minutes before or after medium/high-impact news. Violating this results in profit deduction.
- Pro Models:
- Evaluation: No restrictions on news trading.
- Funded: Trading is not allowed within 2 minutes of high-impact news. Additionally, no more than 30% of your total profits can come from news-influenced trades.
- Instant Funding: Trading is prohibited 5 minutes before and after high-impact news. Violation leads to immediate account termination.
Copy Trading and Group Trading
Copy trading is only permitted under specific conditions to prevent group trading.
- Allowed: You may use copy trading software to copy trades between your own Funding Traders accounts or from your accounts at other brokers into one Funding Traders account.
- Not Allowed: Copying trades from accounts owned by other traders, sharing signals, or engaging in any activity where multiple users execute identical trades at similar times is strictly prohibited and will be flagged as group trading.
Expert Advisors (EAs)
Only risk management or trade management EAs are permitted. Fully automated trading bots that execute trades on their own are not allowed.
Prohibited Trading Strategies
To maintain a fair platform, the following strategies are strictly prohibited: High-Frequency Trading (HFT), tick scalping, latency arbitrage, grid trading, martingale, hedging across multiple accounts, and using "Pass Your Challenge" services.
Additional Trading Conditions
- Minimum Trade Duration (VWHT): Your average trade holding time must exceed 2 minutes. Failure to adhere will lead to account termination.
- Inactivity Period: You must place at least one trade every 30 days to keep your account active. This timer starts from the date of purchase.
Risk Management Group & Leverage Reduction
Funding Traders actively monitors for high-risk behaviors (e.g., risking 2% or more per trade, "all or nothing" approaches, excessive leverage). Accounts flagged for such behavior may be placed in a "Risk Management Group," where leverage is reduced to 1:30 and max risk per trade is limited to 1%. An account can be returned to standard conditions after two successful payouts. Read more
Rules Specific to Instant Funding Accounts
The following rules apply exclusively to the Instant Funding models.
- Weekend Holding: Prohibited. All trades, including crypto, must be closed at least 1 hour before the Friday market close. Violation leads to account termination.
- Max Lot Limit: A 20 lot limit per trade is enforced. Violation leads to immediate account termination.
- Maximum Risk: A maximum risk of 1% is applied. Your floating PnL must not fall below -1% of your initial balance.
- 3% Safety Cushion: The first 3% of profit earned is not withdrawable and acts as a buffer for your daily loss limit.
- Consistency Rule: To be eligible for a payout, your biggest losing trade must not be larger than your biggest winning trade.

Funding Traders Payout Rules and Profit Splits
The Funding Traders offers competitive payout terms that vary by account type, with optional add-ons to enhance your profit share and withdrawal frequency.
Instant Funding Accounts
- Profit Split: Comes standard with a high 90% profit split. An optional add-on is available to increase this to a full 100%.
- Payout Frequency: You are eligible to request payouts on a bi-weekly (14-day) basis.
Pro & Next Gen Accounts
- Profit Split: The default profit split is a generous 80%. Add-ons are available to upgrade your share to 90% or even 100%.
- Payout Frequency: The standard payout schedule is bi-weekly (14 days). You can also purchase an add-on for accelerated 7-day (weekly) payouts.
Consistency Rules :
Funding Traders Profit Consistency Rules for Payouts
To ensure consistent trading performance, a "best day" profit rule is applied when you request a withdrawal. The specific threshold varies by your account type:
- For Next Gen accounts, the profit from your single best trading day must not exceed 25% of the total profit to be eligible for a payout.
- For Instant Funding accounts, this rule is stricter, requiring your best day's profit to be less than 15% of the total profit.
